Centralized Computer Network

  • A centralized computer network is a network in which a central host computer performs data processing and storage on behalf of client. This network provides high performance and centralized management, but it is also expensive to implement. The clients only connect to the server and not to each other. This network is also called host based network.
  • In the centralized computer network, the clients use the resources of high-capacity servers to process information. In this network, the clients are also referred to as dumb terminals with very low or no processing capability.
