What is NIC (Network Interface Card) ?

  • NIC (Network Interface Card) is a hardware device that acts as an interface through which computer is connected on the network.  
  • Main function of NIC is to convert data into electrical signals and transfer them though cables and vice versa. 
  • A computer is connected to other in network through NIC. It is the path through which computers communicate in network.
