- WAN is a network that spans a large geographical area. This network may be across the town, between different cities, countries or continents. WAN may be the network connecting two or more LANs or MANs or a personal computer or a mainframe computer. The internet is an example of WAN.
- WAN is also known as LAN of LANs. Eg. Internet
