  • A domain name is a unique name that identifies a website . It is a way to identify and locate computers and resources connected to the Internet. No two organizations can have the same domain name. It identifies the general class in which particular websites are grouped. It also includes the address and type of server and separated by dots. For examples: .gov, .com, .edu, .org, .net, etc.
