What is FTP-File Transfer Protocol?

  • FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. It is used to transfer the files from one computer to another even they run on different platform of operating system. 
  • It is the protocol that let users to transfer files from one host to another host over a TCP-based network, such as the internet.
    • The role of FTP in internet is that FTP let users to upload and download file and information from the remote computer known as server.
