- Program file: A file, that consists list of statements or commands of a program is called program file. A program file extension is added to a file name by the program itself. Eg. extention of Qbasic is: (.BAS).
- Data file: A file, that consists the information about a person or an object is called data file. And information are stored either in hard disk or floppy disk.
