What is system software?
- The set or programs incorporated on to the memory of a computer by the manufacturer is called as system software.
- System software takes care of running basic tasks as reading application programs from disk, collecting keystrokes from keyboard and presenting on application programs output on display, etc.
- System software is an indispensable part of a total computer system. It is a set of one or more programs that are basically designed to control and manage the operation of a computer system. It is like a layer which acts as an interface between the computer hardware and application software.
